Mindy, the owner is amazing and has done the world a Service with her homemade organic syrups. I generally haven’t been a big fan of shaved ice, but my mind has been blown by how good it can be. This is the best shaved ice on the island and likely beyond. Definitely check out Riptides. You won’t be disappointed.

Riptides Shave Ice & Snacks on Kauai gets a glowing 5 stars from me! This place totally stole the show for shave ice on our entire trip. First off, the location is unbeatable - right on the beach! Perfect for cooling down after a day in the sun. But what really sets them apart is the quality. They use fresh fruit syrups, and you can really taste the difference. We really appreciate this type of syrup, because our son has a sensitivity to food coloring. It's so much more refreshing and flavorful than the typical artificial stuff. And get this - they actually poke holes in the shave ice before pouring the syrup on! This might seem like a small detail, but it makes a huge difference. The syrup gets all the way down, so every single bite is bursting with flavor. We tried shave ice at a few other places on Kauai, but Riptides was hands down the best. They absolutely deserve all the praise!

What an awesome find. My first time in Kauai I had to have a hotdog. Talking with the owner it turns out she is from New Jersey not far from where I grew up. We had a great time talking about where we lived. Small world concept at work. Great food and smoothies. I’ve eaten here twice. Thanks, Mindy for your awesome service.

We went on a quest from Kapp'a to Riptides, so I could finally have kaula pork over rice that is gluten free. My husband got a hotdog with kalua pork on top. The pork was amazing, and, according to my husband, the hot dog was terrific. We went for a short walk along the shore, so we could make room for a shave ice (it's just liquid, after all!) We ordered the "real fruit" half mango and half pineapple. It put every shave ice we have ever had to shame. The flavors were fantastic. The mango had very tiny pieces of mango mixed in with the juice. We only have one more day in Kauai, but we intend on going again tomorrow. Don't miss this tasty spot!

This place is OUTSTANDING!! We (luckily) discovered this gem while casually driving by. I slammed on my brakes when I saw the colorful shaved ice sign! What brought us back everyday during our vacation was the kind service and the amazing items in the menu. The fresh fruit organic flavors are absolutely beautifully curated by the owner. I ordered the Kailua Pork Nachos, Cold Brew, Iced Coffee and a shaved ice everyday! The owner is kind, quick and everything on the menu is absolutely beautiful!!

Best shave Ice over by beach house resturaunts. If you’re looking for a great shave ice full of flavor and actually shaved not chunky ice this is the spot. Great ocean views to enjoy it too! Looked so good I ate before I took a picture lol

Everything about this spot is perfection! It’s a tiny kiosk in front of the beach with excellent snorkeling and killer sunsets. But what was most impressed with was the selection of organic and natural syrups with real fruit and just cane sugar that Mindy makes herself. It doesn’t get more Hawaiian than this. If you’re not here for the shaved ice then get the lava sundae which comes with an ooey gooey warm brownie. Not to be missed. By far the best shaved ice experience I’ve had yet!

Fantastic shave ice; I had the coconut & pineapple with macadamia nut ice cream & sprinkles topped with coconut whipped cream. It don't get much bet'r n that!!!
